Logging In and Out of Knowledge Coach

If your firm uses the CCH Axcess login method or you are an Active Federation Services user, the system prompts you for login credentials when you open Knowledge Coach.

If your firm uses the CCH Axcess login method, the first time you log in and periodically afterward, you also must verify your identity using the 2-Step Verification process. How often you must perform this step depends on the options set by your administrator in the firm setup.

In addition, if your user profile does not include a phone number, you might be prompted to enter one, and then to complete an additional verification process.

Important: The phone number you enter must be a direct phone number. A phone number that requires the caller to enter an extension number or to follow a phone menu cannot be used.

Standard Login

  1. In your Web browser, go to knowledgecoach.cchaxcess.com.

    Tip: You can also select Knowledge Coach in the CCH Axcess program group on your computer's Start menu.

  2. Enter your CCH Axcess account number.
  3. Enter your user ID and password.
  4. If this is your first time logging in, you must do the following:

    • Accept the terms of use.
    • Enter the temporary password that was emailed to you, and then enter and confirm a new password.
    • Select your security questions and answers.
  5. For subsequent logins, enter your user ID, password, and captcha code.
  6. Click Login.

2-Step Verification

If you are prompted to verify your identity, do the following:

  1. Select the method you would like to use to verify your identity. The options that are available to you depend on the information that is available in your staff profile.
    • Email to. Sends a verification code to your email address.
    • Text message to. Sends a verification code to your phone number.
    • Voice message to. Sends a verification request to your phone number.

    Tip: If your profile contains multiple email addresses or phone numbers, you can select the preferred address or number, if needed.

  2. Click Send the Code.

    Note: The verification code expires five minutes after it is sent.

  3. Do one of the following:
    • If you selected the email or text option, retrieve and enter the code on the Account Verification window.
    • If you selected the voice message option, you will be prompted to enter pound on your phone keypad.
  4. Select Remember this device if you are using a private and secure device to bypass 2-step verification for the number of days set in your firm's login options.

    Notes:

    • Do not select Remember this device if you are using a public device.
    • The verification process is specific to your user credentials, device, and browser. You can select to trust each device that you use to log in to CCH Axcess.
  5. Do one of the following:
    • If you used the voice message option, click Voice Message was Received.
    • If you used the email or text option, click Submit.

Logging Out

To log out of Knowledge Coach, click in the top-right corner of the Knowledge Coach window.

Note: For security reasons, you will be logged out of Knowledge Coach after 15 minutes if your session is not active. You will receive a warning shortly before the session expires.
