Basic Workflow Using Engagement Knowledge Coach

The general workflow for using Engagement Knowledge Coach is as follows:

  1. Complete the tailoring questions. Review the introductory information and answer the questions in Form AUD-100 Engagement-Level Tailoring Questions, which is added to the engagement by default as one of the foundation forms. The tailoring questions provide information that Engagement Knowledge Coach uses to provide additional information and guidance for the engagement.
  2. Add more forms, if needed. Diagnostics that display in response to your answers to the tailoring questions can help you identify other forms that will be needed for the audit.
  3. Add program steps. Engagement Knowledge Coach uses your tailoring questions in the substantive audit programClosed The 800 series of forms, whose index number and name are specific for each title. These include AUD-800 Audit Program – (Custom) through AUD-822 Business Combinations. forms to help focus the program steps in the Program Step Library that you will need for the engagement.
  4. Work the engagement. This includes a number of tasks, which might be repeated multiple times for different forms. Some tasks include:
    • Continuing to answer questions in the additional forms you've added.
    • Adding and removing additional forms as needed.
    • Communicating with colleague about the forms through form notes.
    • Reviewing and updating the Risk Summary.
    • Completing the program steps.
    • Signing off on sections of forms as they're completed and reviewed.
    • Signing off on entire forms as they're completed and reviewed.
  5. Lock the finalized engagement. If needed, the engagement can be unlocked at a later time.
